Sunday Onions Recipe! Super Side Dish for Grilled Meats! Noreen's Kitchen

  • Greetings! I have shown these onions on more than on occasion, however, they are also demonstrated with other side dishes in an obscure video. I thought these deserved their own spotlight. So here it is.

    This is not an original idea. This is an idea that has been around for a long time. It basically takes foil packet cooking to a new, extreme. These onions are peeled, cored and stuffed with butter and bullion cubes. Drenched in a healthy dose of cracked black pepper and then wrapped in a double layer of foil. They are then placed directly on the hot coals of the BBQ. You can put the grate on top and grill your meat while the onions are cooking.

    These take about 30 minutes to be perfect. They sometimes get a nice caramelized char on the outer layers but they are simply divine! The perfect go along for a hearty steak, chop or piece of chicken.
