"Triangle" Offense vs. 3-2 or 1-2-2 Zone Defense

  • Published on:  6/4/2009
  • This play is NOT the Phil Jackson Lakers Triangle offense. This play demonstrates how to effectively counter a 3-2 or 1-2-2 zone defense and an extended zone defense with a high trap. If you're a beginning coach or player and your team doesn't know how to run an offense to counter a 1-2-2 or 3-2 zone, this video is for you.

Coaches should and do change their defensive strategies to counter your offensive firepower during a game. Many times, an opposing coach will change their defensive strategy to employ a 3-2 or 1-2-2 zone defense. This defensive strategy provides solid perimeter coverage and can effectively shut down your perimeter players outside shots.

Learn and keep this offensive strategy in your arsenal so you can force your opponent to change up their defensive tactics!

This offense against a 3-2 or 1-2-2 zone is great for teaching youth, club teams, junior high, high school, and recreational teams.
