Basketball Defense: Stance and Slides

  • Published on:  11/20/2018
  • A strong defense can help a team find a big win when it steps onto the basketball court. While there are several defensive fundamentals to work on, the defensive stance and slides are crucial to develop.

To properly perform a defensive stance and slide, you’ll need to have your body in the right position. Starting on your toes with your knees bent and hips low, you’ll mimic your opponent’s moves down the court so they cannot get to open space or the rim.

Adding the zig-zag drill to practice can help improve your defensive stance and slides for game day.
