i realized this when i was in highs school. im 30 years old now, and i never bought a single warranty. most things come with a 1 year warranty, some have 2 or 3 year warranties. had to replace a few phone screens and to replace a boiler after 8 years of use (warranty would have expired by then anyway). even if i include the boiler, i spent about $1200 on things that broke down. if i would have bought warranties, i would have been out thousands up on thousands of dollars.

He is right on the warranties. The only good warranties are for PC parts, they always come with a 3 year warranty from the manufacturer. Yet, Best Buy and Fry's will ask you to put a warranty when it is already offered through the company via RMA. The chain stores will just swap out a new one and do the exact same thing you could have done. My PC died for a month and it took me awhile to realize this, but that's how they run things. If it fails, go to the manufacturer never go back to the store you bought it at.
