Moong Dal Idli(No Rice Idli)!! & Tomato Kuzhambu ((No Dal Sambar!!)

  • This video shows how to make a healthy high protein idli using Moong dal and urad dal. This does not need any rice. The accompaniment for this is a "No Dal" Sambar or Tomato gravy.
    For Idlis
    Moong dal (split yellow lentils) 1/2 cup
    Urad dal (split black gram) 1/2 cup
    Salt
    ENO fruit salt 1/2 tsp /Baking soda

    For Sambar
    Onions 5 -6
    Tomatoes 5-6
    Oil 2 Tbsp
    Halsi/Turmeric powder a pinch
    Chilli powder 1 tsp
    Green chillies 4-5
    Fresh grated coconut 1/4 cup
    Roasted gram 2 tbsp
    Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
    Curry leaves a few
    Coriander leaves a few
    Fennel seeds /somph 1 tsp
    salt
