Ragi Mudde ! Traditional Healthy recipe!!

  • Ragi mudde is a traditional healthy breakfast recipe from Karnataka. It is highly nutritious especially the calcium content of finger millet/Ragi. The cooking method is also very simple. It is generally served with a thin dal also known as Bassaru or any other simple dal or vegetable.
    For Ragi Mudde
    Ragi flour 1 cup
    Water 2 cups
    Ghee 1 tsp
    For Bassaru
    Tuvar dal/pigeon pea lentils 1/2 cup
    Water 3 cups
    Palak/spinach 1 bunch
    Turmeric powder pinch
    Oil 1 tsp
    Coriander seeds 1 tsp
    Dry red chillies 3
    cumin seeds /jeera1 Tsp
    Black pepper 1/2 sp
    Coconut 2 Tbsp
    Tamarind a small piece
    Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
    Dry red chilli 1
    Garlic two cloves
    Onion 1 chopped
    Salt to taste
    Turmeric powder
    Chilli powder 1/4 tsp
    For dry sabji
    Oil 1 tsp
    Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
    Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
    Urad dal 1/4 tsp
    Dry red chilli 1
    Onion 1 copped
    salt to taste
    Dal and palak cooked 1 cup
